What is Marketing?
 

It is described in the Webster's Dictionary as:
 

1. a: the act,or process of selling or purchasing in a market;
    b: the process or technique of promoting, selling and distributing
        a product or service;
2. an aggregate of functions in moving goods from producer to consumer.

As can see from this definition, marketing includes purchasing, promoting, selling and distributing products / services from the producer to consumer.
 

Most organisations channel their marketing effort into promoting and selling products / services to the consumer. While the purchasing and distributing areas are important, most of the marketing dollar will spent in these areas.
 

Time and thought needs to be put into your marketing plan as it can be costly and ineffective if not planned properly.
